EN 1254-3 Copper and Copper Alloys - Compression Fittings for Use with Plastics and Multilayer Pipes

For use with plastics and multilayer pipes, adapter fittings can combine compression ends with the fittings defined in other parts of EN 1254.

Compression fittings for use with plastics and multilayer pipes can also have flanged end connections according to EN 1092-3.

Compression fittings for use with plastic and multilayer pipes can also be coated or have another decorative surface finish. Fittings can be produced by machining, metal forming, casting or fabrication. The products covered by this standard are intended for use in the following areas:

Liquid applications:

• Hot, cold or combined hot and cold water, including systems conforming to EN 806;
• Closed heating systems according to EN 12828;
• Cooling Systems;
• drainage systems;
• Fire protection systems including sprinkler systems according to EN 12845.

Gas applications (does not apply to multilayer pipes):

• Natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas systems with a maximum working pressure of 1775 bar or less according to EN 5;
• Compressed air systems.
