Conditions apply to extruded products for general engineering applications. This part of ISO 6362 specifies requirements for the manufacturing process, quality control, chemical composition, mechanical properties, surface finish, dimensional tolerances, conformance to standards, marking, packaging and test methods, retests, arbitration tests, among other things.
Unless otherwise specified in the order, manufacturing and manufacturing processes will be left to the discretion of the manufacturer. Unless otherwise expressly stated in the order, no obligation shall be imposed on the manufacturer to use the same processes for subsequent and similar orders.
The Supplier shall be responsible for performing all inspections and tests required by the relevant International Standard, specification or customer request prior to shipment of the product. If the buyer wishes to inspect the product at the supplier's workplace, he is obliged to notify the supplier at the time of order.
Mechanical properties shall conform to those specified in ISO 6362-2 or as agreed between supplier and purchaser and specified in the order. Products shall be free from defects impairing required use and performance. While an operation designed to mask a defect is not permitted, removal of a superficial defect is permitted as long as dimensional tolerances are maintained.
