ISO 6362-6 Forged Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded Bars - Tubes and Profiles - Part 6: Round - Square - Rectangular and Hexagonal Tubes

This part of ISO 6362 covers tolerances for dimensions and shape of wrought aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded round bars from 8 mm to 350 mm in diameter; and square and hexagonal bars with width from 10mm to 220mm. Applicable for extruded round, square and hexagonal bars.

For the purposes of this part of ISO 6362, wrought aluminum and aluminum alloys are divided into two groups that correspond to varying difficulties in the manufacture of products.

The division of the most commonly used general engineering alloys into groups I and II is specified for seamless pipe and porthole pipe. Grouping of other alloys is subject to agreement between buyer and supplier.

When outside diameter OD, inside diameter ID, and wall thickness t are all specified, standard tolerances will apply to any two of these dimensions, but not to all three. As a result, the buyer will specify only two nominal sizes in any order.

In some applications, the depth of the surface recesses can be an important factor, especially for round pipes with large diameter-to-wall thickness ratios. In such cases, the maximum allowable indentation depth will be subject to agreement between the supplier and the buyer.
