The ISO 7989-1 standard describes requirements for testing mass coating per unit area, other properties as well as non-ferrous metallic coatings on steel wire products in circular or other sections. This standard relates to general application requirements and is used for coatings where a specific requirement is not specified in the ISO 7989-2 standard. Deviations are possible when necessary, especially for well-defined products. In such cases, the appropriate requirements are part of the relevant product standard.
The ISO 7989-2 standard, on the other hand, describes the coating mass per unit area, other properties as well as the requirements for testing zinc or zinc alloy coatings in steel wire and steel wire products, circular or other sections.
