This corporate code defines binding procedures for laboratory testing of non-metallic structural materials (including textiles for their manufacture and jigs/fixtures) for the design and construction of rolling stock.

The test objective consists of determining the amount of gaseous formaldehyde released during the reaction of the tested material sample with the moisture produced from water fusion in the atmosphere.
A sample of the tested material in a closed vessel above the distilled water level is heated at the selected temperature for the selected time, after which the amount of hydrolytically released formaldehyde absorbed (diluted) in the volume of water is determined by spectro.
The purpose of the test is to evaluate the odor manifestations released into the atmosphere upon heating of the tested material. A sample of test material in a closed container is heated at the selected temperature for the selected time, after which the intensity and nature of the odor manifestations are subjectively evaluated by evaluators who can evaluate according to the odor scale.
