TSE K 591 Weldable B600W Class Rolled Reinforced Reinforcement Steel - Thermomechanically Treated - For Use in High Temperature Resistant Reinforced Concrete Structures

In the TSE K 591 standard published by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), the requirements for B600W class thermomechanically processed and improved performance properties, weldable and ribbed steel bars are described for reinforcing concrete structures with improved temperature resistance.

The international standards that were taken as a basis while developing this standard are as follows:

  • DIN 53135 Filter papers for chemical analysis - Classification, designation, main properties, test methods
  • AWS A5.1/A5.1M Specification of carbon steel electrodes for shielded metal arc welding
  • AWS A5.18/A5.18M Specifications for carbon steel electrodes and rods for gas shield arc welding
  • GOST 9087-81 Fused welding fluxes - Specifications

Thermomechanical rolling is a process for shaping a heavy plate and systematically adjusting its mechanical properties. This is a controlled process that ranges from reheating the plate to (accelerated) cooling by rolling and, if necessary, tempering.

The main purpose of all mechanisms used in thermomechanical rolling is to obtain the finest possible grain. This is simply the basis for the combination of low alloying element content with high mechanical strength and toughness.

Thermomechanically rolled fine grain structural steels are mechanically strong, robust and very easy to weld. Weldable B600W grade rolled reinforcing steel is used in the manufacture of pipelines, offshore platforms, wind power plants, pressure vessels or other steelmaking.

Thermomechanically controlled wrought steels, or the mechanical properties imparted to the steel by this method, are nearly equivalent to those conventionally obtained by heat treatment of rolled or forged steel. This method includes controlled hot working and micro-alloy steel compositions.

Our organization, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, weldable B591W class, which is used in high temperature resistant reinforced concrete structures and thermomechanically treated, within the scope of TSE K 600 standard. It also provides testing services for rolled reinforced concrete reinforcing steel.
