EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of NATO STANAG 4529 testing. The purpose of this agreement is to define technical interoperability specifications for a digital communication device over marine HF radio channels with a bandwidth of 1240 Hz.
The effective bitrate of communication can be 75, 150, 300, 600 or 1200 bits per second through a single tone modulator/demodulator with error correction techniques. In addition, uncoded data transmission modes are defined at 600, 1200 and 1800 bps. STANAG has been developed to implement the capability by upgrading existing STANAG 4285 or STANAG 4481 equipment to include this tool as another user selectable mode.
This standard defines the functions and interfaces required for networked, error-free communication over HF radio channels, nominally beyond line-of-sight communication. This STANAG uses waveforms standardized in other STANAGs and standardized applications. This STANAG defines the necessary middleware to provide a complete solution.
Participating countries agree to implement the protocols and interfaces defined in this STANAG (including the mandatory Annexes) for communication over HF radio channels.
