Many small arms are used in combat vehicles, airplanes, watercraft, etc. also used as subsystems; in these cases, consult the TOPs for specific platforms for possible additional testing procedures.
Test procedures are to help standardize testing and assist in the development of detailed test plans (DTPs), test and evaluation master plans (TEMPs), and similar planning documents. This TOP does not constitute a requirement for performing any of the specific tests and does not serve to set performance or safety criteria for military equipment.
Because requirements for the accuracy and precision of a given measurement may differ between procedures, additional information is included in individual test procedures.
