EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 16126 testing. This standard aims to describe the requirements and method used to determine the particle size distribution of crushed pellets.

EN 16126 Solid Biofuels - Test for Particle Size Distribution of Crushed Pellets

Applies to pellets that break down in hot water at a temperature below 100 °C. It is intended for people and organizations that manufacture, plan, sell, install or use machinery, equipment, tools and all facilities related to fuel pellets, and all people and organizations that produce, purchase, sell and use fuel pellets.

The characteristic temperatures determined in the test can be used to compare the tendency of ash from different types and qualities of solid biofuels to form molten sediment or cause bed agglomeration on heating.

Half the height of the test piece is defined because of the bubbling effects that often occur. This is especially important for automatic image evaluation. Note that this definition differs from other standards.
