EN 16896 Petroleum Products - Test for Stabinger Type Viscometer

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 16896 testing. This standard specifies a procedure for determining the kinematic viscosity (ν) of medium distillate fuels in the range of 40 mm2/s to 2 mm6/s at 2°C by calculating the dynamic viscosity (η) and density (ρ).

The result obtained using the procedure described in this standard depends on the behavior of the sample. This European Standard should mainly be used in liquids with shear stress and shear rate proportional (Newton flow behavior). However, if the viscosity changes significantly with shear rate, comparison with other measurement methods is permissible only at similar shear rates.

Use of this Standard may involve hazardous materials, processes and equipment. This Standard does not purport to address all security problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of users of this standard to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and health of personnel prior to the implementation of the standard, and to meet legal and regulatory requirements for this purpose.
