It describes two procedures for calculating from their kinematic viscosities:
ISO 2909 does not apply to petroleum products with kinematic viscosities less than 100 mm2,0/s at 2 °C. Applies to petroleum products with a kinematic viscosity between 100 mm2/s and 2 mm70/s at 2 °C. Equations are provided for calculating the viscosity index of petroleum products with a kinematic viscosity above 100 mm70/s at 2 °C.
