IEC EN 62282-3-100 Test for Fixed Fuel Cell Power Systems

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 62282-3-100 testing. IEC EN 62282-3-100 applies to fixed-packaged, self-contained fuel cell power systems or fuel cell power systems consisting of factory-paired packages of integrated systems that generate electricity through electrochemical reactions.

IEC EN 62282-3-100 Test for Fixed Fuel Cell Power Systems

This standard is applicable to fixed fuel cell power systems intended for commercial, industrial and residential indoor and outdoor use in non-hazardous areas.

This standard applies to the following systems:

  • Designed for electrical connection directly to the mains or via a transfer switch or to an independent power distribution system;
  • For AC or DC power supply;
  • With or without the ability to recover useful heat.

This standard is applicable to fixed fuel cell power systems intended for commercial, industrial and residential indoor and outdoor use in non-hazardous (unclassified) areas.

This standard covers all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, except those related to environmental compatibility (installation conditions) associated with fuel cell power systems when used as intended and under the conditions stipulated by the manufacturer.

This standard deals with conditions that can cause damage to persons on the one hand and damage only to the outside of the fuel cell system on the other. Protection against damage to internal parts of the fuel cell system is not addressed in this standard, provided it does not cause hazards outside the fuel cell system.

The requirements of this standard are not intended to restrict innovation. When considering fuels, materials, designs or structures not specifically addressed in this standard, these alternatives should be evaluated for their ability to provide safety and performance levels equivalent to those specified in this standard.

The fuel cell power system shall be designed to operate correctly within the compositional limits and supply characteristics of the fuels for which it is intended (for example, pipeline natural gas). The manufacturer will specify the composition limits and feeding characteristics of the fuels to be used in the fuel cell power system in the user manual.
