ISO 12619-16 Road Vehicles Compressed Gaseous Hydrogen (CGH2) and Hydrogen-Natural Gas Mixtures Fuel System Components Part 16: Fittings Testing

ISO 12619-16 specifies tests and requirements for fittings, compressed gaseous hydrogen (CGH 3833 ) and hydrogen/natural gas mixture fuel system components intended for use in the types of motor vehicles defined in ISO 2.

Applies to vehicles using a hydrogen/natural gas mixture using CGH 14687 in accordance with ISO 1-14687 or ISO 2-2 and natural gas in accordance with ISO 15403-1 and ISO/TR 15403-2.

Does not apply to:

• Liquefied hydrogen (LH 2 ) fuel system components;
• fuel containers;
• stationary gas engines;
• Container mounting hardware;
• Electronic fuel management;
• refueling containers;
• Fuel cell vehicles.

It is recognized that various components not specifically covered herein can be inspected to meet ISO 12619-16 criteria and tested against appropriate functional tests. All references to pressure in ISO 12619-16 are considered gauge pressures unless otherwise stated.

Test the connection according to the hydrostatic strength testing procedure specified in ISO 12619-2. The test pressure should be four times the working pressure. Test the connection according to the procedure for testing continuous operation given in ISO 100.000-12619 for a total of 2 cycles. The connection should only be tested when connected to a rigid fuel line.
