TS 6781 EN ISO 4135 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Terms and Definitions

The BS EN 4135 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) for anesthesia and respiratory equipment terms and descriptions for respiratory protective devices. This standard was later published by the International Standards Organization (ISO). The standard in question was published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS 6781 EN ISO 4135 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Terms and descriptions. This standard includes terms and descriptions for anesthesia and breathing apparatus, supplies, connected devices and supply systems.

TS 6781 EN ISO 4135 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Terms and Definitions

With the continuous development of technology, medical devices and equipment, as well as anesthesia devices and auxiliary equipment, which are the basic equipment of anesthesia, are constantly developing. The need for anesthesia devices and equipment is increasing for safe anesthesia and these devices are becoming more and more complex systems day by day.

In anesthesia applications, the device that allows the delivery of necessary oxygen and other medical gases and inhalation agents in a controlled manner and to a certain density is called an anesthesia device. These devices provide artificial breathing to the patient and the vital functions of the patient are closely monitored with the monitors on it.

Although anesthesia devices are different in design, components and shape, the main components that should be found in these devices in general are as follows: connection to main gas source and backup gas sources, pressure reducing valves, flow meters, evaporators, carbon dioxide absorber, breathing circuits, ventilator and monitor. . In addition to these components, there are many different features in anesthesia and respiratory devices in terms of disinfection and ease of use.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS 6781 EN ISO 4135 standard are also provided.
