Respirator Compatibility Tests

TS EN 12083 Protective Respirators - Hose Breathing Techniques (Unmasked Filters) - Dust Filters, Gas Filters and Combined Filters

The BS EN 12083 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the properties and test methods of mask-free dust filters, gas filters and combined filters used in protective breathing apparatus operating with hose breathing technique.

TS EN 12083 Protective Respirators - Hose Breathing Techniques (Unmasked Filters) - Dust Filters, Gas Filters and Combined Filters

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN 12083 Protective breathing devices - Hose breathing techniques (unmasked filters) - Dust filters, gas filters and combined filters - Properties, experiments and marking.

If the total density of particles in the air is low, the particle filter, air-purifying respirators provide long-term protection without the need to replace the filter. However, if there are very high concentrations of air pollutants, a respiratory device that provides a positive pressure atmosphere provides longer protection.

When using air-purifying respirators, filter puncture times, replacement periods, and lifetime indicators for toxic substances in the air are essential factors to consider.

Respirators used with respirators should not limit the ability of employees to see, hear, communicate and act to do the job safely. Such a negative situation may present other potential hazards.

Another factor to consider when using a respirator is the air supply rate. The working speed of the employee determines the volume of air inhaled per minute. The air volume provided to meet respiratory requirements is essential when using respirators that provide the atmosphere. To keep respiratory protection under positive pressure, the air supply rate should generally be higher than the maximum amount of air inhaled.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 12083 standard are also provided.
