Respirator Compatibility Tests

TS EN 13274-4 Respiratory Protective Devices - Test Methods - Part 4: Flame Tests

One of the test methods for respiratory protective devices is flame test method. To explain this test method, the BS EN 13274-4 standard was developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI). This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN 13274-4 Respiratory protective devices - Test methods - Part 4: Flame tests. This standard describes flame test methods applied to respiratory protective devices.

TS EN 13274-4 Respiratory Protective Devices - Test Methods - Part 4: Flame Tests

In a work environment, if the breathing air has taken a dangerous situation, the density of hazardous substances in the workplace has increased, while the oxygen level in the air has decreased too much, then workers need respiratory protection. As respiratory protection is always an additional burden for businesses, the following principle applies: as much protection as necessary but as little as possible. This depends on the working environment conditions.

The oxygen rate in the inhaled air should be 21 percent. If the amount of oxygen falls below this rate, the life of employees is compromised. Air pollutants are harmful particles for humans, animals, plants, organisms and all ecosystems in general. Based on this definition, pollutants are collected in two main groups. They are a group of natural pollutants. Mineral powders fall into this group. The other group is synthetic and man-made pollutants. Vehicle exhaust gases and industrial fumes are also included in this group. Pollutants that enter the human body through the respiratory tract cause various diseases.

Since oxygen is a flammable and flammable gas, respiratory protective devices, especially tubes, must have been flame tested and tested under fire.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 13274-4 standard are also provided.
