TS EN 13274-6 Respiratory Protective Devices - Experiment Methods - Part 6: Determination of Carbon Dioxide Content in Breathing Air

Another test method for respiratory protective devices is the test method for determining the content of carbon dioxide in the inhaled air. To explain this test method, the BS EN 13274-6 standard was developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI).

TS EN 13274-6 Respiratory Protective Devices - Experiment Methods - Part 6: Determination of Carbon Dioxide Content in Breathing Air

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN 13274-6 Respiratory protective devices - Test methods - Part 6: Determination of the carbon dioxide content in the inhaled air. This standard describes a test method for measuring the carbon dioxide content in the air taken by inhalation in respiratory protective devices.

Employees' safety must be ensured according to the legal regulations in force. Employers are obliged to ensure that sufficient oxygen is available for those working in work environments. In addition, employees must ensure that their health is not damaged by particles polluting the air. These legal regulations contain occupational exposure limits and these limits should be kept under control with regular measurements.

Respiratory protection devices are firstly collected in two groups as independent respirators operating independently from the ambient atmosphere and filtering devices operating depending on the ambient atmosphere. The first group is diversified as respiratory protection devices, independent breathing apparatus, regeneration devices, clean air hose units and compressed air hose units.

The second group of respiratory protection devices are classified as filter masks with integral filters, face masks with separable filters (with fan) and face masks with separable filters (without fan). In any case, determination of the carbon dioxide content in the inhaled air is important.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 13274-6 standard are also provided.
