TS EN 13274-7 Respiratory Protective Devices - Test Methods - Part 7: Determination of Particle Penetration through the Filter

The BS EN 13274-7 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the test method for determining particle penetration through the filter, another test method for respiratory protective devices. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN 13274-7 Respiratory protective devices - Test methods - Part 7: Determination of particle penetration through the filter. This standard describes a test method for testing particle filter penetration for respiratory protective devices.

If there is not enough oxygen in the ambient air or the breathing air is dirty, it is essential to provide fresh air supplied from the outside. The air supply from outside may be in the form of air from compressed air cylinders filled with breathing air, or in the form of air coming from outside breathing air pipes.

Respiratory protection is absolutely required when the respiratory air is dangerous in the work environment, that is, when the concentration of the hazardous substance exceeds a certain level, or when the oxygen level in the air drops too low.

It is the pollutant particles in the air in various forms that create dangerous substance concentration. These particles are formed by the activities of humans, animals, plants, organisms and the entire eco system. Some of these harmful substances or compounds consist of natural ways and some of them are synthetic ways (such as industrial fumes and vehicle exhaust gases).

Pollutants enter the human body through the respiratory tract and their effects depend on their interactions with the human body. For these reasons, the use of respiratory protection devices and the functionality of these devices are very important.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 13274-7 standard are also provided.
