TS EN 13274-8 Respiratory Protective Devices - Test Methods - Part 8: Dolomite Powder Occlusion Test

The BS EN 13274-8 standard was developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the dolomite powder clogging test method, one of the test methods for respiratory protective devices. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN 13274-8 Respiratory protective devices - Test methods - Part 8: Dolomite powder clogging test. This standard describes a test method for detecting clogging with dolomite powder for respiratory protective devices.

Due to its chemical and physical structure, dolomite is a raw material that has many uses in the industry. These minerals, which are a type of rock, are also used in the production of respirators. Companies that prefer special materials and methods in mask production offer them to consumers after applying tests for dolomite powder. Dolomite powder has an extremely clog-resistant and long-lasting structure and is one of the most effective solutions for comfortable breathing.

Oxygen quality and values ​​in the air are very important for human health. The main consequences of oxygen deficiency are:

• There is a danger if the oxygen concentration drops below 17 percent
• If between 11 and 14 percent, physical and mental abilities drop unnoticed
• If it is between 8 and 11 percent, there is a possibility of loss of consciousness without warning after a certain time
• Loss of consciousness in a few minutes if it is between 6 and 8 percent
• If it drops below 6 percent, there is a loss of consciousness immediately.

In this regard, new techniques are important in the production of oxygen masks.
