TS EN 144-1 Respiratory Protective Devices - Gas Cylinder Valves - Part 1: Inlet Connections

The BS EN 144-1 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the properties, test methods and marking criteria of the inlet connections of gas cylinder valves used with respiratory protection devices. This standard was published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 144-1 Respiratory protective devices - Gas cylinder valves - Part 1: Inlet connections.

TS EN 144-1 Respiratory Protective Devices - Gas Cylinder Valves - Part 1: Inlet Connections

This standard describes the screw connection properties between the gas cylinder valve used with oxygen, oxygen / nitrogen or respirators and the pressure reducer, and the dimensions and tolerances to be used for the connections.

It is important to use respirators and masks suitable for the field of activity in working environments. Factors related to the activities in which the equipment will be used, which are effective in choosing the right respiratory protection equipment, are:

  • What are the working environment rates
  • What are the visibility requirements
  • Whether there is any mobility requirement, including spatial conditions of the working environment
  • Whether there is any communication requirement
  • Whether the equipment causes thermal stress on the person to use it
  • Whether there are any other accessories in the area in contact with the equipment
  • What tools to use
  • Whether there is any other personal protective equipment to be used in addition to respiratory protective equipment
  • What is the wear time
  • Whether there is a manual action and how the selected respiratory protection equipment, if any, will be affected

The main purpose of respiratory protection equipment is to prevent employees from being exposed to an atmosphere contaminated with dust, smoke, vapor, mist, gas and various aerosols and to protect them from occupational diseases.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 144-1 standard are also provided.
