TS EN 12942 Respiratory Protective Devices - Power Supported Filter Devices with Full Face Masks, Half Masks or Quarter Masks

The BS EN 12942 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to describe the properties, test methods and marking criteria of power-assisted filter devices used in combination with full-face masks, half-masks or quarter-masks.

TS EN 12942 Respiratory Protective Devices - Power Supported Filter Devices with Full Face Masks, Half Masks or Quarter Masks

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN 12942 Respiratory protective devices - Full face masks, half masks or power-assisted filter devices with quarter masks - Features, experiment and marking.

Some respiratory devices use filters to remove airborne contaminants, while some of the respirators use a respiratory quality air supply from an independent source, such as an air compressor.

These filters are generally of two types: non-motor respirators and electric respirators. The non-motor respirators are based on the breathing of the user and the drawn air passes through the filter. Electrical respirators pass air through the filter using an engine power to provide the user with fresh air.

However, whether they are based on breathing power or motor power, these respirators have masks in two different ways. Some of them sit tightly on the face. These are often referred to as masks. The mask provides a good seal with the face of the user. Full or half face masks are examples. Some are more relaxed and provide enough fresh air to the wearer to prevent contaminants from leaking.

In short, respiratory protective equipment is a special type of personal protective equipment used to protect the user against the inhalation of hazardous substances in the working environment air. It is used as a last resort when exposure to airborne contaminant particles cannot be controlled by other means.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 12942 standard are also provided.
