EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the EN 14594 test standard. This standard specifies minimum requirements for continuous flow compressed air line respirators for use with a full face mask, half mask, hood, helmet or suit, and devices used in abrasive blasting operations as a respiratory protective device (RPD).
Escape RPD and diving apparatus are not covered by this document. Laboratory and practical performance tests are included to assess compliance with requirements.
The components of the RPD should be easily separated for cleaning, inspection, and testing. All detachable connections shall be easily connected and secured by hand if possible. Any sealant used must be retained when connections and couplings are disconnected during normal use and maintenance.
RPD should be done in such a way that any bending of hoses and pipes does not affect fit or performance of the device or cause disconnection of hoses or pipes. At least one swivel coupling must be installed in the compressed air supply pipe next to the user. The design of the couplings shall be such as to prevent unintentional interruption of the air supply.
