TS EN 14594 Respiratory Protective Devices - Continuous Flow Compressed Air Line Respirators

The BS EN 14594 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the properties, test methods and marking criteria of continuous flow compressed and airline respirators. This standard was published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 14594 Respiratory protective devices - Continuous flow compressed air line respirators - Properties, tests, marking.

The standard in question describes the minimum characteristics of continuous flow compressed air line respirators used in abrasive polishing as a respiratory protective device and equipment such as full face mask, half mask, headgear, helmet or suit used with these devices.

Compressed airway respirators operate independently of the ambient atmosphere. These devices are used when the ambient air is dangerous due to contaminants or lack of oxygen and filtering devices do not provide adequate protection. Since these devices are continuously air powered, they are generally preferred in long-term operations, for example in construction sites, agriculture and industry, in maintenance and repair of tanks and containers, underground and surface mining, and whenever compressed air breathing apparatus will force the employee due to the narrow working area.

The compressed air line breathing apparatus consists of a face mask connected to the compressed air supply by the compressed air source. The face mask is usually a full face mask. Such devices only provide as much air as needed during inhalation. Therefore, air consumption is economical. Also, many combinations are possible with its modular design. It also provides additional safety with emergency air supply.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 14594 standard are also provided.
