The BS EN 45-3 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the properties of the M 148x2 threaded connection equipment for face protection parts of respiratory protective devices. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following heading: TS EN 148-3 Respiratory protective devices - Screws for face protective parts - Part 3: M 45x3 threaded connection.
The standard in question is designed for self-contained compressed air breathing equipment used as positive pressure breathing equipment. This standard covers the M 45x3 threaded connection, which can be used optionally for face protection parts of positive pressure breathing equipment. Negative pressure breathing equipment, closed-circuit breathing equipment, and diving equipment do not comply with this standard.
Solid and liquid particles, such as powders, fumes, mists, fibers, radioactive particles, vapors, gases and microorganisms, including nanoparticles, pose significant hazards to human health. The way these hazards occur is by inhaling harmful concentration levels. In addition, working activities can cause oxygen insufficiency or concentration of toxic substances to rise to dangerous levels, even in closed areas, even instantaneously.
Legal regulations on occupational health and safety require that employees avoid exposure to hazardous substances in this way to protect their health, safety and well-being. In this regard, businesses have to make risk assessments and take appropriate measures. At this point, respiratory protective devices provide great benefits.
