TS EN 402 Respiratory Protective Devices - Self-sufficient Lung Controlled Demand Type Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus with Full Face Mask or Mouthpiece Assembly, Using Compressed Air - For Escape

The BS EN 402 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to describe the features, test methods and marking criteria of open circuit breathing apparatus, which is included in the full face mask group and has a mouthpiece assembly, operates with compressed air and has a self-sufficient lung control.

TS EN 402 Respiratory Protective Devices - Self-sufficient Lung Controlled Demand Type Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus with Full Face Mask or Mouthpiece Assembly, Using Compressed Air - For Escape

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN 402 Respiratory protective devices - Self-sufficient lung control demand type open circuit breathing apparatus with full face mask or mouthpiece assembly - For escape - Rules, experiments, marking.

In advanced laboratories, these types of breathing devices are subjected to compressed air, performance, environmental and pressure tests, and their volume and circuits are checked.

A complete respiratory protection program should be implemented, especially if standards and employers' responsibilities require respiratory equipment use. Employers are obliged to ensure that employees use their respirators safely and properly. Employees must be familiar with the procedures, existing breathing devices and their limitations.

Employers are responsible for assessing whether the use of breathing apparatus will actually harm employees. Employers should assess workers medically and, if necessary, restrict use of respirators.

Choosing the right breathing apparatus is extremely important. For this, first of all what the danger is and its scope should be determined. Then, user factors that affect respiratory performance and reliability should be taken into account. A suitable NIOSH certified respirator should then be selected.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN 402 standard are also provided.
