TS EN 404 Respiratory Protective Devices - For Self Recovery - Filtered Self Recovery Device With Mouthpiece Assembly Against Carbon Monoxide

The BS EN 404 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the characteristics, test methods and marking criteria of filter self-rescue devices, which are respiratory protective devices and have a mouthpiece assembly against carbon monoxide that people use to save themselves. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 404 Respiratory protective devices - For self-recovery - Filtered self-recovery device with a mouthpiece assembly against carbon monoxide.

The standard in question includes filter respirators designed to provide protection against carbon monoxide and other toxic gases during the escape of the person in an emergency.

When choosing respirators, it should be decided according to the level of oxygen in the environment and the amount of harmful particles to be found in the environment when necessary. It is very important to choose respiratory protection equipment suitable for the task or escape situation undertaken. The expected benefit cannot be obtained if the right choice is not made and the selected equipment is not tested correctly. Essentially, the equipment itself, the environment in which it will be used, the function it will undertake, and individual factors affect this choice.

For example, the factors related to respiratory protective equipment are whether there is a CE mark on the equipment, whether it is sufficient for the task to be used, the environment used, the task, the person using it and other personal protective equipment and whether it is in good working order. In order to ensure all these conditions, the necessary tests in advanced laboratories should be made for this respiratory protective equipment.
