The BS EN 404 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the characteristics, test methods and marking criteria of filter self-rescue devices, which are respiratory protective devices and have a mouthpiece assembly against carbon monoxide that people use to save themselves. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 404 Respiratory protective devices - For self-recovery - Filtered self-recovery device with a mouthpiece assembly against carbon monoxide.

The standard in question includes filter respirators designed to provide protection against carbon monoxide and other toxic gases during the escape of the person in an emergency.
