TS EN ISO 23747 Anesthetic and Respiratory Equipment - Peak Inhalation Flow Meter for Assessment of Lung Function in Self-Breathing Persons

The BS EN 23747 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to describe the characteristics and test methods of peak exhalation-related flowmeters for the assessment of lung function in people who are between anesthetic and respiratory equipment and self-breathing.

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN ISO 23747 Anesthetic and respiratory equipment - A flow meter related to exhalation for the assessment of lung function in self-breathing persons.

The standard, also published by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the requirements for a top exhalation flowmeter device designed for the assessment of respiratory function in self-breathing people.

With the development of this standard for peak exhalation flow rate measurement, the safety and performance level of such medical devices are kept at optimum and facilitates diagnosis and monitoring of lung and airway conditions. Thanks to the tests applied, it is ensured that a peak exhalation flow meter will meet the same requirements as the most recently accepted methods.

The standard covers all medical devices that measure the peak expiratory flow rate in self-breathing humans as part of an integrated lung function medical device or as a self-contained medical device.

The environmental impacts must be taken into account during the design and production work and use of this medical equipment. Environmental impacts are included in the ISO 14971 standard.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN ISO 23747 standard are also provided.
