TS EN ISO 26782 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Spirometers Designed to Measure Time-Dependent Difficult Exhalation Volumes in Humans

Anesthesia, breathing and reanimation equipment include spirometers designed to measure time-dependent challenging exhalation volumes in humans. The BS EN 26782 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the features and testing methods of these devices.

TS EN ISO 26782 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Spirometers Designed to Measure Time-Dependent Difficult Exhalation Volumes in Humans

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following heading: TS EN ISO 26782 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Spirometers designed to measure the time-related challenging exhalation volumes in humans.

This standard, which was later published by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the requirements for spirometers designed for the assessment of respiratory functions in people weighing more than 10 kg. This standard includes spirometers that measure timed expired volumes, regardless of the measurement method used, as part of an integrated lung function device or as a stand-alone device.

Spirometry is a medical device that records physiological lung ventilation volumes in the vital capacity range. Spirometric evaluations are used, for example, to screen people at risk for lung disease, to take objective measures in the presence of lung disease, to evaluate symptoms and preoperative risks, and to record the effect of the intervention. Spirometry is also used in studies to evaluate respiratory failure, public health and clinical studies.

With the tests carried out within the framework of this standard, trust is gained that any spirometer used complies with accepted accuracy, repeatability, electrical safety and similar standards.

The minimum safety requirements in this international standard provide a practical level of safety in the operation of spirometers.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN ISO 26782 standard are also provided.
