TS EN ISO 5367 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Respiratory Sets and Fittings

The BS EN 5367 standard has been developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to explain the properties, test methods and marking criteria of breathing sets and fittings that are located between anesthesia and breathing equipment.

This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 5367 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Breathing sets and fittings. This standard was later published by the International Standards Organization (ISO).

This standard describes requirements for respiratory sets and breathing tubes designed for use with medical devices such as anesthesia breathing systems, ventilator breathing system, humidifier or nebulizer.

The TS EN ISO 5367 standard describes the requirements for breathing sets, breathing tubes and connectors that function as accessories in anesthetics and breathing apparatus. Breathing sets and breathing tubes carry certain design requirements, such as connection and leak limits. When connecting these accessories to a respiratory system, fitness and flow resistance values ​​are taken into account.

These design requirements should allow anesthetic breathing systems and ventilator breathing systems using breathing sets and fittings to operate within the performance limits. This standard covers disposable or reusable breathing sets and breathing tubes. Reusable breathing sets and breathing tubes are designed to comply with the requirements of this standard for the recommended service life.

To simplify the test method, certain tests are carried out under constant pressure. This international standard does not apply to breathing sets and breathing tubes manufactured for special purposes.

Within the scope of breathing apparatus compatibility tests carried out by our organization EUROLAB, testing services in accordance with TS EN ISO 5367 standard are also provided.
