The following two standards have been developed for particulate filter penetration tests:
Air pollution is a serious health problem all over the world. New standards are designed and new legal arrangements are made to deal with this problem. The recently published standard EN 13274-7 describes the test methods for respiratory protective devices used in Europe.
This standard is particularly important in a hazardous environment. It provides two test aerosol requirements to evaluate the filter penetration properties of protective devices that clean the inhaled air. In this way, the test methods applied in the sector are updated, certain aspects are improved and they become a reference for all respiratory protective device performance standards. The importance of this standard is that it provides an appropriate method for determining how much respiratory protective devices reduce the hazards caused by airborne particles.
The ISO 16900-3 standard describes test methods for the penetration of separate or integrated filters into the particulate filter for respiratory protective devices. It mainly defines the following tests:
Particle filter penetration (EN 13274-7 and ISO 16900-3) testing services are also provided by our organization within the scope of respiratory protection equipment testing services.
