Type Approval Tests

ISO 11357-5 Plastics, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Part 5: Determination of Characteristic Reaction Curve Temperatures and Times

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ISO 11357-5 testing. ISO 11357-5 specifies a method for determining reaction temperatures and times, reaction enthalpies, and degrees of conversion using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

ISO 11357-5 Plastics, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Part 5: Determination of Characteristic Reaction Curve Temperatures and Times

The method is applicable to solid or liquid monomers, prepolymers and polymers. The material may contain solid or liquid fillers or initiators.

Unless otherwise specified, use a mass of 5 mg to 20 mg and adjust the sample mass if the thermal effect is too high or too low.

The test can use one of two different methods, depending on what information is required:

  • Temperature scanning method;
  • Isothermal method.
