EN 62552-2 Household Refrigeration Appliances, Features and Test Methods, Part 2: Standard Test for Performance Requirements

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 62552-2 standard. EN 62552-2 specifies the main characteristics of domestic refrigeration appliances cooled by internal natural convection or forced air circulation and provides test methods for checking properties.

This part of EN 62552 describes methods for determining performance requirements. Although there are some commonalities in setups for different tests (and it can therefore be an advantage to apply them all to a single sample), these are separate tests to evaluate certain properties of the sample under test.

This part of EN 62552 does not specify a procedure for generalizing results from sample test results to an estimate of the characteristics of the entire population from which that sample is selected. EN 62552-1, EN 62552-2 and EN 62552-3 together form a technical revision.

It includes the following important technical changes according to EN 62552:

• A cooling capacity test has been added to Part 2 (this part);
• Added a pull-down test to Part 2 (this part);
• Added performance tests for wine storage devices in Chapter 2 (this part).
