This European Standard can be used to determine whether products have sufficient strength to withstand forces applied directly to them during installation or application, particularly caused by foot traffic. Test samples are prepared by cutting with methods that do not change the original structure of the product. Molded skins that do not remain with the product during use should be removed. Rectangular test specimens with parallel major faces should be cut from the product with the test specimen base perpendicular to the direction of the applied force.
