The distance between the support links of the needle should be adjustable so that it can be adjusted according to the thickness of the sample. The clamping device must be equipped with a suitable protective device to prevent the needle from ejecting.
The test is performed with at least three samples. Uniform thicknesses will be obtained by means of a suitable splitting machine. If possible, the smooth original surface surfaces of the sample will remain unchanged in the samples.
