EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1809 standard. This European standard specifies functional, safety requirements and test methods applicable to inflatable type buoyancy compensating devices intended to provide divers with means to control buoyancy and, where applicable, to carry breathing equipment or to carry weights.
This European standard does not apply to other types of personal equipment such as lifeboats, personal flotation or rescue devices, including combined flotation and rescue devices.
BC shall not provide any evidence of the risk of injury to the diver or impair the operability of any of its components or a breathing apparatus.
The BC will be equipped with various devices that allow respectively mouth and compressed gas inflation, manual deflating, automatic pressure relief, evacuation of trapped water, and a harness to fix it to the wearer's body.
