EN 54-25 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems, Part 25: Standard Test for Components Using Radio Links

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 54-25 standard. This European standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for components used in fire alarm systems installed in and around buildings that use radio frequency links (RF links) to communicate.

It also provides the requirements for evaluating the compliance of components with the requirements of this European standard. Where components work together and this requires knowledge of system design, this standard also specifies system-related requirements.

When fire detection and fire alarm systems (FDAS) use wired and RF connections, the relevant sections of EN 54 apply together with this standard. The requirements for cable connections have been superseded or replaced by those included in this European standard.

This standard does not restrict the following:

• Intended use of the radio spectrum, eg frequency, power output of devices;
• FDAS or the maximum allowable number of components using RF links within a transmission path or RF link;
• The maximum allowable number of components affected by the loss of a transmission path or RF link.
