ISO 105-C10 is designed to determine the effect of washing only on the color fastness of textiles. It is not intended to reflect the outcome of the comprehensive laundering procedure.

The test methods in this part of ISO 105 are intended to reflect the effect of domestic and commercial laundry procedures and washing using soap or soap and soda on the color of textiles. Washes are performed similarly to ISO 105-C08 tests, but using soap.

A textile sample in contact with one or two adjacent fabrics is mechanically agitated in a soap or soap and soda solution under certain time and temperature conditions, then rinsed and dried. Change in sample color and staining of adjacent fabric or fabrics are evaluated with reference to the original fabric, gray scales, or instrumental.
