It specifies the procedures to be followed to keep the relative humidity of conditioning and test environments within the required tolerances at the temperatures specified in certain International Standards.

The procedures described are designed to condition small quantities of materials prior to testing and tests that can be performed entirely in a small enclosure, for example electrical tests. The guidelines described do not apply to enclosures that need to be opened frequently.

The enclosures are designed to maintain a constant humidity level using an aqueous solution stored in a reservoir at the bottom of the enclosure.
