The task of assessing dynamic behavior is therefore very difficult, since each of the important interactions of these driver-vehicle-environment elements is complex in itself. Because this test method measures only a small portion of all vehicle handling characteristics, the results of these tests can be considered significant for only a corresponding small portion of the overall dynamic behavior.

A substantial amount of work is required to obtain adequate and reliable data on the correlation between accident avoidance and vehicle dynamics in general, and on the results of these tests in particular. Consequently, any application of this test method for regulatory purposes will require a proven correlation between test results and accident statistics.
