This International standard defines a test method specific to non-woven fabrics. Other International standards applicable to textile, paper, plastic, rubber or other materials can also be applied to test certain nonwoven properties.
A certain amount of simulated urine is discharged at a given rate, under certain conditions, onto a non-woven test piece placed on a reference absorbent pad. The time it takes for all the liquid to penetrate the nonwoven fabric is measured electronically.
