TS 6099 Rubber and Plastic Hoses - Standard Test for Hole Diameters and Length Tolerances

This standard specifies preferred internal diameters and tolerances and length tolerances for rubber and plastic hoses for general-purpose industrial applications. Rubber and plastic hoses for hydraulic and automotive applications are not included. The standard will only be used if the relevant product standard does not list its specific diameters and tolerances.

The dimensions of the rubber and plastic hoses and the relevant inner diameter ranges will be in accordance with the standard. According to the process used to manufacture them, four types are specified:

• Type A: hoses made using a rigid mandrel for inside diameter control;
• Type B: hoses made using a flexible mandrel for inside diameter control (plus plastic hydraulic hoses with or without a mandrel);
• Type C: hoses made without mandrels (without mandrels);
• Type D: flexible extruded plastic hoses (Type D does not include spiral reinforced plastic suction and discharge hoses classified as type C).

This standard conforms to the product standard for the hoses concerned, unless there is no justification for using a different hose size or a different size is required for a particular application.
