EN 13541 Indoor Glass - Safety Glass - Standard Test for Testing and Classification of Resistance to Bursting Pressure

This European Standard specifies a test method, performance requirements and classification for burst pressure resistant glass for use in buildings. The explosion pressure resistant glass is intended to provide resistance to explosives in terms of human safety.

EN 13541 Indoor Glass - Safety Glass - Standard Test for Testing and Classification of Resistance to Bursting Pressure

This European Standard relates to a test method against blast waves generated using a blast tube or similar facility to simulate a highly explosive detonation.

The classification is valid only for tested glass sizes of approximately 1 m2. Based on theoretical considerations or experimental work, the results can be used to predict burst-pressure-resistance of other glass sizes.

Resistor classes are not assigned to specific states. For each individual case, the specified person should be consulted, if necessary with the help of experts in the field of explosion.

The protection afforded by explosion-proof glass depends not only on the product itself, but also on the design and fixing of the glass.
