EN 1365-3 Fire Resistance Tests for Load Bearing Elements, Part 3: Standard Test for Beams

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 1365-3 standard. This part of EN 1365 specifies a method for determining the fire resistance of hollow or non-hollow beams with or without fire protection systems applied.

EN 1365-3 Fire Resistance Tests for Load Bearing Elements, Part 3: Standard Test for Beams

This standard is used in conjunction with EN 1363-1. Beams that are part of a floor construction are tested with the floor construction as described in EN 1365-2 and are subject to integrity and insulation evaluation.

The test specimen should be placed as representative as possible of its practical use. The ends of the beam support shall be sealed with flexible material of sufficient fire performance to prevent leakage of hot gases during testing and any effect on the extreme conditions.

Evaluating the fire resistance of a beam is concerned with the effects of a fire attacking the underside, sides, and perhaps the top surface of a beam, without accounting for heat loss at the ends of the beam.
