AATCC 109 Test Method for Color Fastness to Ozone in Low Humidity Atmosphere

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of AATCC 109 testing. This test method is designed to determine the resistance of the colors of textiles to the effect of ozone in the atmosphere at room temperatures by relative value.

AATCC 109 Test Method for Color Fastness to Ozone in Low Humidity Atmosphere

A test sample and a control sample are simultaneously exposed to ozone in an atmosphere with ambient temperatures (64-82F) and relative humidity not exceeding 67% until the control sample shows a color change corresponding to that of a standard. This exposure time creates a cycle. The cycle is repeated until the sample shows a definite color change or for the prescribed number of cycles.

Compare the color of the control swatch with the standard for periodic fading in daylight ranging from average to slightly bluish northern sky light or equivalent artificial light. Once matched, the samples were exposed for one cycle and each will then be compared to a sample of the raw material.

Remove samples that show color change at the end of one cycle. One cycle will usually produce a measurable color change in ozone sensitive samples. At the end of each cycle, immediately compare samples removed from the exposure chamber with the original preserved samples from which they were drawn.
