DIN 74324 Polyamide Pipe for Air Brake Systems - Requirements and Tests

This standard specifies requirements and test methods for single-ply polyamide pipe for use in air (as in DIN 73378). The polyamide materials covered by this standard are resistant to aging for three hours at 125°C under normal service conditions and not under pressure.

Pipe sections will be placed in the pendulum impact tester with the irradiated side away from the impact point of the impact hammer. Required abbreviations of the samples shall be halved at both ends to use the irradiated central portion of the sample and a minimum length of 50 mm should not be undercut.

The provisions made in this standard aim to ensure the functional safety of the installed compressed air brake systems and their wide interchangeability within the framework of legal provisions by standardizing the main connection dimensions.

According to this standard, polyamide pipes are a selection by material and dimensions, which largely corresponds to the specifications according to DIN 73378, but with additional information for the inside diameter and varying boundary sizes according to Part 4.
