EN 1170-7 Precast Concrete Products - Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement - Part 7: Test for Measurement of Extreme Dimensional Changes Due to Moisture Content

This European standard specifies a test method for determining the maximum dimensional changes (residual hydraulic contraction and reversible expansion) of a GRC composition attributable to changes in water content to which products exposed to the elements may be subjected.

Make a sample panel with the coating layer on the flat board, under the same conditions as the actual production it represents, under the same conditions as pre-mixing or spraying. After 24 hours, remove and store in the same conditions as the actual production it represents until the sample panel is 6 days old.

Store test pieces in the laboratory at (20 ± 3)°C and (60 ± 5) % relative humidity until the products reach the test age determined by agreement between the manufacturer and the customer. If no information is provided, the accepted test age is traditionally 10 days after manufacture.

Test pieces should be placed individually in sealed bags for transport from the production area to the test laboratory. Transportation time is not taken into account when calculating age.
