EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 105-X18 standard. ISO 105-X18 specifies a method intended for evaluating the phenolic yellowing potential of textile materials.
The method is specific to phenolic yellowing and does not cover many other possible causes of yellow discoloration found in textiles.
Each sample and control fabric is placed separately between a folded test paper placed horizontally between two glass plates. The stack of plates, test papers, samples and control fabric are then tightly wrapped in BHT (butyl hydroxytoluene)-free polyethylene film to form an airtight package.
After the package is removed from the incubator/oven and tester, it is allowed to cool. The package is opened and the control fabric and samples are immediately evaluated against the gray scale to assess staining.
