NF G39-011 Characteristics of Fabrics - Fabrics and Polymeric Materials with Anti-mite Properties

This standard describes a general method for determining the mite inhibitory activity of fabrics or polymeric materials. This method can be applied when the tissue allows contact with the mites and is not used for treatments that require a mechanical or physical impact on the mites.

The fabric samples tested may come from a commercial garment or a textile or polymeric material that has a similar shape and size to the raw sample. Sufficient quantity must be provided to obtain a sufficient number of test tubes to perform the test. It is recommended to provide a piece of 0,5 m².

Samples should be sent in separate containers for each to avoid contact of tissue with mite inhibitory activity with untreated pieces of negative control. If testing with different exposure conditions is desired, as many pieces of tissue should be provided as exposure conditions are desired. For each fabric type, 6 test tubes should be used per sample.
