EN 20957-2 Fixed Training Equipment, Part 2: Strength Training Equipment, Specific Safety Requirements and Test Methods

This part of EN 20957 specifies additional safety requirements for stationary strength training equipment in addition to the general safety requirements of EN 20957-1.

This part of EN 20957 is applicable to stationary training equipment type strength training equipment with bulk weight resistance or other means of resistance such as elastic cords, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, magnetic, springs and externally loaded weights (hereinafter).

The maximum load capacity of each weight support will be indicated on the machine. Locking mechanisms shall be provided in accordance with EN 20957-1 to prevent the weight discs from falling.

Brief instructions describing the main exercises should be affixed directly or have them affixed on or near training equipment (for example, as graphic symbols).

For machines loaded externally with weight discs/plates, instructions will be given in the owner's manual and will include information on the hole size and dimensional capacity of the weight discs/plates.
