The standard divides safety glass products into categories of resistance to force actions.
In this standard, resistance categories are not assigned to specific applications. The category selection should be made by the user for each case, after consulting an expert if necessary.
Safety glass products must be installed in a framework that can provide adequate resistance to attack while also providing appropriate support to the safety glass product.
In safety glass products, cavities and holes should be avoided as much as possible, as this may affect the resistance of the product.
This standard deals only with mechanical resistance to attack. Other specifications for which separate standards will be drawn up may also be important.
